What’s the cost?
An EMDR Therapy Package is $975 (includes 5 hours of therapy plus a workbook). This is a cash pay service and averages $195 per therapy hour.
Okay, can I use my insurance?
Insurance hasn’t caught up with the real world of mental health.
While I’m in-network with many insurance providers, insurance does not cover therapy in this intensive format. Therefore, all EMDR Intensive services are offered at a cash rate only.
This service is also not eligible for a Superbill (receipt of services), as EMDR Intensives are considered a non-traditional therapy format and fall outside typical insurance reimbursement guidelines.
We can talk through this more during your free consult call.

Common questions about EMDR Intensives:
-
Intensive therapy can be emotionally, mentally, and physically draining. I encouraged you to practice self-care pre/post sessions. Self-care plans can be developed as part of your treatment.
If you have a therapist that you see regularly, it is recommended that you continue to schedule appointments with them pre/post intensives.
It’s best to treat this as a “retreat” and make the most of the healing work by not scheduling anything after the session(s). Consider only nourishing and gentle activities after session(s).
-
While the goal is to significantly reduce the impact of the identified goal/target, no therapist can guarantee those results.
What is accomplished during an intensive session is dependent on the presenting trauma history, presenting concerns, and how you respond to the treatment.
A 3 hour therapy block can help to either increase performance and confidence, or significantly decrease the devastating effects of single event trauma (e.g. negative cognitions, disturbing emotions and body sensations).
While significant healing can occur in a 3 hour therapy block, Complex PTSD or more ingrained concerns will likely need more than one three hour session.
After your first 3 hour therapy block, you can choose to continue ongoing weekly, biweekly, or additional 3 hour therapy blocks.
Therapy is customized to your needs.

We’ll meet for an initial 60 minute Pre-Intensive session. If you decide that a 3 hour therapy block is right for you, payment will be required at the time of booking (total of $975). If you decide the 3 hour therapy block is not the right fit for you, the intake fee of $195 will be due on the day of the intake.
If you have questions or concerns about the investment, please discuss with me on your consultation call.

Intensive EMDR treatment is feasible and is indicative of reliable improvement in PTSD symptoms in a very short time frame. Learn more here.
An intensive program using EMDR therapy is a potentially safe and effective treatment alternative for complex PTSD. Learn more here.
The economy is compelling: even compared to other trauma therapy, the intensive format may decrease treatment time, because of time not spent on a) checking in at the beginning of each session, b) addressing current crises and concerns, c) focusing on stabilizing and coping skills that the client won’t need after trauma healing, or d) assisting the client in regaining composure at the end of the session.
